Left NYC; Landed in Ghana

I'm here in Ghana! Landed in Accra on Thursday, January 27, 2022, temperature 90 degrees Fahrenheit. After getting Covid tested, collecting my luggage, and clearing customs I was greeted by the smiling face of Sister Agatha. It felt good to be back "home" in Ghana. We took a taxi to Kasoa to get on a van that took us to Cape Coast. It took about 5 1/2 hours to get from Accra to Cape Coast - half the time it took to fly from NYC to Ghana! There is only one road which goes from Accra to the west of Ghana and traffic can get pretty bad, especially if it is rush hour. Thankfully the van had air conditioning! When we arrived at the convent, I was excitedly welcomed home by Sister Mary and Sister Francisca. They had prepared a delicious dinner for me complete with fresh squeezed pineapple juice. I truly feel at home here with the sisters as they have become family to me. Looking forward to the next two months here in Ghana.
